Summer in Boston

After several weeks of traveling on the weekends, Jessica and I stayed around Boston this weekend and enjoyed all the things we hadn't been able to do. So where did we begin?

On Friday night Jessica and I went to Friday night flicks and met-up with her cousin (Kelley), Kelley's boyfriend Jason, 2 of their friends and Tom (a friend from school) and his finance (Phoung(spelling)). They were playing 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire ' and we were drinking wine and enjoying the movie under the stars.

On Saturday, Jessica and I jumped in the car and went to our favorite beach at Crane's. The day ended up being a bit cloudy until we actually got off the beach, go figure! On the road from the beach we went to the pick your own farm where we went Blueberry and Raspberry picking. In fact, as I write this Jessica is making a pie with those berries. Bet you wish you were here ;)

But wait, Saturday isn't over! My friends told me how great the new Harry Potter was in IMAX and that the last 30 minutes was in 3D. Sadly, the IMAX showings were sold out so we decided to run errands and go to a regular showing elsewhere. Well, elsewhere took us to Natick, which is west of the city. We actually still had some exchanges to make at a mall there and decided to grab sushi and a movie out there.

That brings me to today, Sunday. Jessica woke early and ran up to the beach to try and get some sun that we missed on Saturday. She got lucky too because it was a beautiful 81 and sunny at the shore. I was lucky enough to take care of some school work at home while she was gone.

Hope you all had a great weekend...see you all soon.

Molly Helen Graham

The Grahams got their girl! Julie, Ben and Caleb welcomed Molly to their family on July 7, 2007. They are home and seems to me life is back to normal and Molly is fitting right in. Caleb is in love with his little sister and hopes one day she can play whiffle ball with him, but right now "she is too little to walk or talk". We are looking forward to meeting her in August!!

What do Bostonians do for the 4th?

Well, they go to the Esplanade to hear the Pops and see the fireworks!

Jessica, Lisa and I packed our bags early July 4th to head to the Esplanade to claim our 9x5 ft patch of dried out grass to enjoy the day. Watching the weather channel was the least of our worries at 10 am when we left our apartments. The day started with plenty of sun and a nice cool breeze. The day ended, as many of you know, with rain and fireworks.

It was a great time and if it were a clearer day, I would say I would do it again in a heartbeat. However, given that it rained from 7pm on, I am not sure if I will be doing it again anytime soon.

As I already mentioned, Lisa, Jessica and I hit the Esplanade early Wednesday morning to claim our land. We were later joined by Kelly and Jason who brought us lunch, Boggle and Beer. If anyone gets the chance to play Boggle with Jason again, I would strongly suggest against it. Jessica may be the Yahtzee Natzi (play online here) but Jason is the Boggle Boondoggle.

I went home to check on the Dog and while I was gone, the rain began to move in. After about an hour with Jax, I walked back to our spot. By this time, Isabelle (could be spelt wrong) joined the crowed and Jessica and Lisa went back home to pickup our dinner. All the food was great, however we had to eat it all beneath our umbrellas.

After several wet hours of waiting, all the while damping our spirits, the Pops came on and the fireworks began. We were lucky we picked such a good spot to watch them from, they were AMAZING!

Anyway, the new weekend approaches with Jessica and I headed to NY city to Tom and Michael's place (they are letting us stay there while they are still in Connecticut). Enjoy the pictures of our Fantastic 4th!

Summer Fun

Happy 4th of July!! We have spent the last few weekends traveling around and enjoying the beautiful weather. The picture of the flag was taken 2 weeks ago at the No Grouch Lodge in Speculator, NY. We went to the Getty family's lake house for the weekend and had a great time. Jax did a TON of swimming, we kayaked, canoed and did some sailing on the sunfish. We also had a great beach bonfire and s'mores :). Click the link for pictures.

Last weekend we were in Sharon, CT at Tom and Michael's weekend house. They spent the better part of the winter months doing renovations and decorating the house. It is looking amazing! Jax did more swimming and almost got his cousin Cooper to jump in with him on Sunday. We sat by the pool, ate really delicious food, drank, sat by the pool... It was a great weekend and really good to see them as it has been way too long!

We had a great 4th yesterday which Rich will post about later today with the pictures. Hope everyone is well!
