Not the next presidential speech writer...

Ok, so, we know now that Jessica is "great" and that I am not very good with speech's when someone else taps my glass. To redeem myself from that horrible speech (if you can call it that) I've put together a few words below, that, if I hadn't been drinking and maybe knew ahead of time, I probably would have said.

I'd first like to thank Tom, Lynn and Kimberly for putting this party together and everyone else for coming (shout out to Ted). I am sure that everyone here is having as great a time as I am.

It is difficult to know where to begin. Jessica is the inspiration in my life and reason why every day is better than the last. It's hard to believe how many years we have already enjoyed together; the time seems to have gone by so fast.

Having met as freshman in college, it was difficult to know where our relationship would go. We were so young and so much different than we are now. I had this freakishly long hair and Jessica, well honestly Jessica looks just about the same. Who knows what the first attraction was but we hit it off immediately.

I guess what it all comes down to is that what makes a lasting relationship like Jessica's and mine is not the what one of us puts into it but what we both bring out in each other. Jessica helps me to become a better person just by being herself. I like to think that I bring the same out in her.

Here's to the many happy years to come.

I've decided that the night club industry isn't for me....

I am currently working at Mohegan Sun, a casino for those under a rock, so that means I haven't stepped outside since Monday and I am not too sure what the weather is like. Aside from the window in my room, the casino is totally devoid of any widows, clocks, etc. I am in a bubble where I am unable to determine what time of day it is. Aside from my watch and the rumbling in my stomach, I would not know what time it is ever.

I heard it snowed this morning, I wouldn't know.

Anyway, so part of my task while working here is a Tenant audit. Basically what that means is I check to make sure that the tenants, ie Johnny Rockets, pays Mohegan the correct rent each month (rent is based off Sales). Because of this, I get to review lots and lots of register tapes from the bar and nightclub I am reviewing. Who would have guessed that a Redheaded Slut and Jagermeister were such popular drinks. Personally, I prefer the more subtle drinks like the lemon drop or a Grey Goose and Soda but whatever.

I can picture it now, Women getting crazy during some bachelorette party ordering a few redheaded sluts forming a circle and gulping it down. Honestly Jessica, if this happens at your party, I don't want pictures and I don't want to know.

Something else I have found while working here. To be in the night club industry, you have to be jacked, I mean JACKED. I just don't fit in. Even if I do find evidence of fraud here, should I tell someone for fear of my life? There is only one exit to this back room I am currently sitting in and I am not concerned about being trapped by fire. Instead, what concerns me is the doorway being blocked by some bouncer they call 'the bigger guy.'

This is a part of a conversation I had while in a room full of those types of people mentioned above.

"I understand that you reconcile your tapes to the General Ledger postings on a daily basis, but do you run a monthly report off the GL activity to verify the aggregate of the daily activity?"

"No."

"So, what you are telling me is that there isn't monthly report, from the GL, that we can get to tie to the Rent Report you present to Mohegan?"

"No."

"So, we only have this micros report then?"

"Yes"

"Thanks, thanks a lot for your help."

See how much of a dork I feel like here? It's really killing me. Although, the rooms here are much nicer than the Springfield Marriot, only problem is I don't get reward points.

Aries '88

So, this is coming from a ways back in my past. I sent an email with this in it about 1 year ago and while cleaning my email out today (I know I am a loser), I found this gem.

Some random dude put this together but it actually hits pretty close to home. A good friend of mine growing up, Brian McCarthy, drove one of these bad boys, only his was a wagon. Anyway, there were some good times and jokes that went with that car.

Hope you all enjoy the video.

Yesterday was one heck of a day....

A few things happened yesterday to make it memorable day, Jessica placed our wedding invitations in the mail and I was accepted into school. The race is now on to see who will be the first to reply.

There is no time to waste now, we have gone through a list of things to do prior to the wedding and it's a long one. Not only was yesterday filled with exciting changes in our lives but it was one of the most beautiful days in Boston this year. We're both really looking forward to spring.

Anyway, more later just wanted to catch everyone up the School and wedding details.

If you want to learn more about the program I'll be going to , here is the link.

oh, by the way, these two items on their list:
- you are a recent graduate stuck in a dead-end job
- you are seeking a career change into accounting, but also want the career flexibility of an MBA

Don't apply to me, I always wanted to go back for my MBA and with my current career path, the Masters in Accounting will help me become eligible to sit for the CPA exam.
