Jungle Gardens

O.K., so I wasn't successful in linking Ofoto into my first blog...today I'll try something a little less ambitious (I hope). Yesterday Mom and I took Anja and Connor to the Jungle Gardens. Here's a picture of us feeding the flamingos, which went well until one decided to pull Anja's hair, while another gave me a somewhat disconcerting back massage. Connor thought the whole thing rather funny!

Thanksgiving 2007

If you are reading this, it means I have (finally) successfully created a blog. Hopefully, the Thanksgiving pictures are also attached.

This technological success now opens the door to Mom & Dad posting many future blogs, boring you all miserably in the process. So, don't just skip the Mom & Dad section of the website on the assumption we never contribute anything!

Another great weekend

Carrie and I were very happy to meet all of Jessica's aunts and cousins this past weekend at her shower in Rome, NY. It was nice to finally see where Jessica grew up and where Rich has been visiting all these years. Their home is really comfortable and we felt very welcome. The food at the shower was fabulous. Jessica's cousin Kelly did a great job with the catering. Susan and Kimberly thought of every detail, from the piano player, to the Godiva wedding cake favors which were amazing.

Carrie is here today to work out with Dad and she's helping me to post the pictures. Some are of Anja to document her first trip out of Florida. She was so cute in the hotel room. She thought it was so funny that Granny was in the next bed and laughed and laughed each night. She was also very good on the plane.

A great weekend

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating Rich and Jessica's engagement! Aunt Lyn and Karen arrived on Wednesday and we had a great time catching up with them. Then the Fitzpatricks arrived on Friday and, along with Karen, we all went sailing on Saturday with Tom and Michael who arrived at Carrie's the night before (light winds on the way out but good winds on the way back). On Saturday night everyone went to Carrie and Sascha's for a fabulous party with delicious food and drink and a great host and hostess. Jessica's mom and grandparents were there to help wish the couple luck and happiness. It was also nice to see Jeanette and Bobby again. It was a great party and everyone had fun.

Easter Sunday found everyone at our house to celebrate the day and to wish Grandpa a happy 90th birthday. All in all, a great weekend. Pictures are posted to the right.

We're all looking forward to getting together again for the wedding weekend!

Oh, and we have to mention that our little Anja was an angel and looked adorable in her little yellow dress. She was the hit of the party!

The old people have an update

Carrie is here and I'm making Mom and Dad write an update on their webpage. Dad says "Don't bother, there's nothing going on", but I've been able to extract a couple tidbits of information:

1) The Pollacks are coming over for dinner on Monday.
2) Dad is helping Carrie get back in shape since Anja was born so I've been coming here a few days a week to go to the gym with him while Mom watches Anja.
3) They are going to eat at Mattison's Steakhouse on LBK after sailing this weekend.
4) Mom is still enjoying her work with Home Instead.
5) Dad starts teaching again in March and is looking forward to filing his tax return.
6) When they are not busy drinking martinis, watching the beautiful sunsets on their lanai, sailing, and driving around Grandma and Grandpa, they enjoy babysitting Anja in their free time.
7) We are all looking forward to Easter and all the visitors we'll be having for Jess and Rich's shower at Carrie's house. Tom and Michael are coming too!
8) All their recent pictures of Anja have been loaded into her 6 month album.

Ok, Sascha is working late (as usual) so I'm eating dinner here. They don't have any more to add. Love ya! (And they love you too)!

Boat Parade

Last night we hosted the Reskows (Dan and Judy) and the Sargents (Walter and Sharon) for a party on the Hamingja to watch the annual Christmas boat parade. Our decorations were pretty lame, but we're making big plans for next year! Mom and I slept on the boat after the party.

Thanksgiving weekend

Carrie posting for Dad again. Thought I'd update their page with the photo we took of them on the beach. I've also added the potential family portraits and the boat excursion pics to the right. Check out my page for the Thanksgiving and Christening pics (if you haven't done so already).
