April sunshine

We have had some beautiful weather here in Florida. Unfortunately, we desperately need rain, but we have sunshine and a nice breeze everyday instead.

The week before Easter, Anja decided to give her sister a haircut. I had completely forgotten that I left Anja's scissors out after making a craft during Emma's naptime. After dinner and baths that night, I was cleaning up the kitchen, and the girls were playing quietly in the playroom. Emma comes walking toward me saying, "Mommy, Anja cut". I thought, "Well, she didn't hurt herself, no one is crying. Then I saw it: hair falling onto Emma's shoulders. I sent Anja to her room for the rest of the night and cleaned up the hair that filled an entire ziplock bag. I brought her to a professional to try and have it fixed, but it's not perfect. I learned my lesson - put away the scissors!!!

Easter was a lot of fun. Anja wanted makeup and a new game (which she got). Emma wanted a train set - at least that's what she LOVES to play with. All in all, they got loads of candy at several different egg hunts. The Easter bunny was very busy this year!

Anja and Emma now share a room! Getting them to go to sleep is the hardest part because they love to talk to each other. They also make multiple requests for water and kisses. Other than that, they do not wake me up at night (except for a nightmare issue last night). Finally....I think Anja "gets" it. She received a big girl bike for being a big girl and not waking up mommy.

On May 1st we went in our pool for the first time this year. The warm weather is warming up the water and it's finally "comfortable" (we don't have a heater). Both of the girls LOVE the water!
