31 Hours of Heaven

We are finally getting around to sharing our honeymoon pictures with everyone. If you ever have a chance to go to The Wauwinet, I can't stress enough how incredibly perfect it was.

We arrived around lunch time and decided to have lunch on their patio. I had an amazing lobster cobb salad and Rich had a lobster roll with homemade lemon herb chips. We then decided to take a nap on the lawn. The cusions were so comfy and the sun was out. Along with my fleece blanket they brought me, it made for a perfect nap overlooking the water. When we woke up the waiter promptly arrived with champagne for one Mr and Mrs Christenson. We then looked at some of the wedding photos and changed for dinner. As some of you may have heard, I forgot my license in Boston. They let me fly without it as I was bawling and Rich's parents later arrived on Nantucket with the goods (also my credit card). We headed into town to meet up with them and Aunt Judy and Uncle Dan for a drink. We then drove back to Wauwinet for the most delicious dinner I think I have ever had. We started with a bottle of Dom Perignon from '96 (the year that we met) that Rich had ordered a few months ahead. The dinner was perfection from start to finish. Finish consisted of a little plate of cookies that said Congratulations in chocolate and me signing the check Jessica Christenson.

Tuesday we woke up and lounged around. We went to breakfast on the patio and then headed out for a walk on the beach. After taking advantage of the lawn chairs again for some reading, we checked out of the amazing hotel and drove to town for lunch and some shopping. We finished up our trip with a glass of wine on the water and then headed back to the airport to again board the tiniest plane ever! (Well not ever, but in my mind it was) We have promised ourselves that we will go back every year for our anniversary for what we hope will be a repeat performance of a perfect overnight. Now I am at my desk and Rich is in the library and life goes on for this husband and wife.

What the hell is wrong with me? Why did I start crying at the end of this post?!? It sounds like the perfect honeymoon, even if it was only 31 hours. I think your idea to do it every year (well, at least until you are on the 4th kid :-) is a great one. Can we do the wedding too??

Sounds like you both had a great trip! BTW - Jess, you don't have to spell out Christenson. Zoe still does that and it takes about 20 mins for her to sign her name, :)
The rest of the family is lazy and just write the first few letters and follow up with a long line. I've been told a long line in Norwegian means "enson"
